Lullabies of Somber Souls
L.O.S.S, or Lullabies of Somber Souls, is Simaek's upcoming project. Inspired by Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower, The EP depicts Simaek's grieving process associated with the only guarantee in life: change. Their husky baritone voice and melismatic runs capture the listener from track to track, evoking a tender sentimentality. L.O.S.S and Simaek's beautifully haunting melodies remind the listener that while grieving, it's essential to slow down, rest, reflect, and remember one's value. As a sibling project to 4th Street, Simaek poses love and grief as two integral aspects of healing.
4th(e) Street(s)
4th Street or 4 the Streets is Simaek's self-produced demo that was released in November 2023. Blending Rap, RnB, and Neo-soul, and gospel, Simaek explores their journey trying to find true love, whether that be platonic, romantic, familial, or self-love.
